The Property Consultants Society
Incorporated - 1954

Welcome to the website of The Property Consultants Society

You will be able to find everything you need to know about the Society here, from an introduction to who we are and what we are about, right through to joining and becoming a member.

The Property Consultants Society is a long established Society and was incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee on the 26th day of April 1954. Membership is mainly in the UK and Europe, with some members further afield.

The Society was created with the principal object to provide a central organisation for
  • surveyors
  • architects
  • valuers
  • auctioneers
  • land and estate agents
  • master builders
  • construction engineers
  • accountants
  • members of the legal profession who practise as consultants
with a view to ensuring for the community the existence of a body of property consultants who can be relied upon to be trustworthy and duly qualified to perform their respective duties.

We are a non profit making organisation run for the benefit of our members and the public.

We aim within our resources to offer assistance to members to enable them to undertake their practice of property consultancy (as widely defined above) in a competent, legitimate and publicly acceptable way. Our Society Guidelines, which include our Code Of Conduct, outline the way the Society is run, the expected behaviour of members, and the results of non-compliance. To view these, please click on Society Guidelines. A list of members and their contact details is available to members only (in the process of being updated) so that inter-communication and exchange of ideas are made possible. To view this, please click on Members and enter your login details when prompted.

Our Organisation, The Society, has a head office where all the administrative support for the Society is conducted. This is the first point of contact for any queries. Our contact details can be found on this site. This office deals with:
  • processing membership applications
  • elections
  • maintaining membership subscriptions
  • maintaining a database of details for each member (backed up by paper files)
  • dealing with enquiries from Society members
  • addressing queries and complaints from members of the public
We also produce regular newsletters which are sent to all members, which aim to keep them informed of legislative changes affecting the property business that may be of interest and information relating to the Society. To view the latest edition, please look in our Newsletters section.

Our Directors meet to discuss key issues and make decisions appropriate to the current and future running of the Society. Members are able to attend our AGM. The directors report is available to members only. To view the directors report and financial accounts, please log in to the Members section of the site and follow the instructions provided.
